Bam! Lands Motorola Computer Group
DALLAS-Bam!, Austin, Texas, was assigned the creative and media planning portions of the $10-12 million account of Tempe-Ariz.-based Motorola Computer Group, according to the agency. The client's media buying remains in-house. The print-heavy work will include branding duties for Motorola's line of Macintosh-compatible computers. Bam! had worked for Mac-clone competitor Power Computing in Round Rock, Texas, until last April. The account was previously handled by SicolaMartin, also in Austin.

Sides, Graham Share Louisiana Lottery Account
BATON ROUGE, LA.-Two Lafayette, La., agencies will share the Louisiana Lottery Corp.'s $5.5 million advertising account. For the first time in the lottery's eight-year history, the account is being split between creative and media placement. Sides & Associates won the $765,000 creative account as the only finalist among three bidders. The Graham Group defeated Sides in the final cut for the $4.8 million media placement business. The lottery contract runs for four years.

SicolaMartin Adds High-Tech Clients to Roster
DALLAS-SicolaMartin, Austin, Texas, was recently named agency of record for Citrix Systems of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Wyse Technology of San Jose, Calif. According to the agency, it has added new business worth about $20 million in billings with those two account acquisitions, plus assignments from an undisclosed PC systems manufacturer and IBM Software and Networking Groups in Raleigh, N.C.

Insurance Company Appoints Strascina
DALLAS-Mountain States Mutual, a New Mexico and Colorado property and casualty firm, last week named Strascina & Partners, Albuquerque, N.M., as its agency without a review. A late fall launch is planned for the first assignment. Billings were undisclosed.

Houston's Churchill Forms Advertising Unit
DALLAS-Houston public relations firm Churchill Group has started a full-service marketing arm called Churchill Advertising Group. The new unit, to be headed by president Bob Wallace, plans to pursue clients in the energy and energy services fields.

Austin Data Organization Enlists MC2
DALLAS-MC2, Austin, Texas, has acquired the account of local client First American Flood Data Services. The shop, which will work primarily with the client's PropertyView division, will handle print ads and interactive design duties.

Laster & Miller to Launch Symphony Work
DALLAS-Laster & Miller Advertising in El Paso, Texas, was selected by the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Association to handle advertising, marketing and public relations for the 1997-98 season. Duties include promoting subscription sales and special events.
