Automaker Hears Pitches; Omnicom/TN Talks Cool

DETROIT—DaimlerChrysler’s two U.S. agencies are set to make presentations for the automaker’s $1.5 billion consolidated ad account this Thursday as merger talks between the agencies’ holding companies appear to have broken off, sources said. Omnicom’s BBDO Worldwide will pitch in the morning, and True North’s FCB will go in the afternoon. Client representatives said cost is the review’s sole criteria. The winning agency takes creative and media duties for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and corporate in the U.S.
