NEW YORK--The former CEO of the Cannes International Advertising Festival has joined Euro RSCG in a new business post, the New York-based network confirmed today.

Romain Hatchuel has been named director of global new business at Euro RSCG. In the newly created position, he will work with marketing, strategic and business development teams to identify new business opportunities with existing and potential clients. He is assigned to the Paris office.

Last month, Hatchuel left his festival post after four years of organizing the Cannes Lions Festival and Eurobest Awards. He was succeeded by Franz Prenner, the president of the European Group of Television Advertising.

"My involvement with the International Advertising Festival in Cannes gave me the unique opportunity to be an impartial observer of the global advertising industry," Hatchuel said in a statement. "I look forward to working with potential clients and to help them benefit from what Euro RSCG has to offer."

In the past, Hatchuel worked for the CB News Group in Paris, publishers of a leading trade magazine and producers of a French TV program about advertising. He was also sales and marketing director at SAGA, a subsidiary of French conglomerate Groupe Bollore.
