GSD&M is the first beneficiary of the Pennzoil-Quaker State merger as the agency will take on the new company’s consolidated media buying business. The ad accounts of Pennzoil and Quaker State would be worth $72 million combined.
A representative of Pennzoil-Quaker State Co. confirmed the move to GSD&M in Austin, Texas, but said most buys for 1999 were already made by prior shop CPM Media Management, Chicago.
GSD&M handles Pennzoil motor oil. It also places ads for Pennzoil’s Jiffy Lube chain.
