LOS ANGELES Automotive service center chain Great American has awarded its advertising account to Morey Evans, the agency said.

The Greenwood Village, Colo.-based client chose Morey Evans following a two-month review that included undisclosed contenders. Great American previously handled advertising in-house.

The client decided to partner with an outside agency to support its national expansion plans over the next two years. Morey Evans in Denver was selected for its experience in retail, strategic positioning and franchise expansion. The firm will now be responsible for strategic brand development, creative services, media and overall execution of Great American's advertising and marketing initiatives.

Billings on the account were undisclosed, and TNS Media Intelligence/CMR recorded no spending last year.

Morey Evans is in the developmental stages of creating a new campaign. The media mix has not yet been determined.

With capitalized billings of $30 million, Morey Evans' client roster includes Vehix.com, Deep Rock Water, Good Times Restaurants, Metro Brokers and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

Great American operates 14 locations in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Virginia and Washington. The chain sells tires and offers automotive maintenance, repair and lube services.
