ATLANTA Gkv Communications said it has been named agency of record for Gardiners Furniture following a review that included undisclosed competition.
The Baltimore shop will handle advertising, media planning and buying, marketing and public relations for the locally based furniture retailer. Greg Mullaney, president of Gardiners, said that the company chose gkv because of its creative capabilities and breadth of services. The upcoming campaign is meant to help Gardiners expand its market share, he added.
Gardiners was established in 1942 and is Maryland's largest family-owned and operated furniture retailer, the shop said. The company operates five retail locations throughout central Maryland as well as a clearance center in Towson, Md.
"Gardiners has a rich history in the Baltimore area, and we hope to help them further build on their reputation for quality and value," said Stephen Rogers, executive vice president at gkv.
Work on the new campaign is still in the developmental stages, the agency said.
Gardiners spent $1.3 million on advertising in 2002 and $1.2 million through October 2003, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
