LOS ANGELES -- Foote, Cone & Belding has withdrawn from the review for the creative portion of Hyundai Motor America's $160 million national account, said Select Resources International, the consultant leading the review.

The shop's San Francisco and Irvine, Calif., offices had been pitching the business together.

Still remaining in the pitch are the incumbent, Bates USA West in Irvine, Calif.; Publicis in the West, Seattle; Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco; and The Richards Group, Dallas.

FCB executives could not immediately be reached for comment. Catherine Bension, president of SRI in West Hollywood, Calif., said it was unclear why FCB dropped out of the review.

Finalists are expected to meet with the Fountain Valley, Calif. client next week for a work session. Presentations will be held in mid-April, with a decision by the end of the month.
