In the wake of losing its only account, Foote, Cone & Belding’s El Segundo, Calif., office is set to close at the end of this month, the agency said.

The decision to shutter the office was made shortly after FCB dropped out of the national review for Mattel’s $40-50 million boys and entertainment account, said FCB representative Lisa Wells.

The El Segundo outpost has primarily been a service office for the agency’s Chicago operation. The shop lost the boys and entertainment business last month to Young & Rubicam in Irvine, Calif.
