NEW YORK — Foote, Cone & Belding has landed creative and media planning duties for Qwest Communications, the client confirmed. The win came without a review. The account, with estimated billings of $100 million, had been handled by DDB in Chicago for the past four months.

FCB will soon begin working on a broadcast, print and direct mail campaign, which will focus on Qwest’s re-entry into long-distance within its 14-state local service region.

A representative for the Denver-based client, who declined to say why DDB had been replaced so quickly, said FCB was chosen for its years of experience in the telco category.
