CHICAGO Vanguard Car Rental, parent company of National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car, said it has awarded creative and media duties on its advertising account to Publicis Groupe’s Fallon.

Estimated billings are $20 million.

The Minneapolis shop won the account after a review that included WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam and Omnicom Group’s Element 79, both in Chicago.

The contenders were invited to pitch the account by Jerry Dow, who joined the Tulsa, Okla., company from Fallon client United Airlines last April.
