BOSTON Interpublic Group's Mullen has promoted Brian Bronaugh to president of its Pittsburgh office. He had been svp, ecd, and he retains the latter title.

Bronaugh succeeds Bob Bernardini, who becomes chairman. Both executives have been at the shop for more than 15 years.

"Pittsburgh has been a consistently strong, stable and profitable operation," said Joe Grimaldi, chief executive officer of Mullen, which is based in Wenham, Mass. "We believe management transitions are important to keeping a company strong and vibrant. In this case, the choice was clear to Bob and me, and we are both enthusiastic supporters of the go-forth leadership plan."

During his agency career, Bronaugh has been a creative and strategic advisor to clients including Mellon, PNC, Heinz, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the State of Pennsylvania tourism and economic development departments, among others.

"We will be tapping the power of all of Mullen to create an agency in Pittsburgh focused on creativity, responsibility, accountability ... Our people and our clients will be galvanized and feel good about the contributions and results they generate," said Bronaugh.

Mullen employs 50 staffers in Pittsburgh.
