Digital@jwt has named Mike Dupuis senior partner, director of client services.
In the newly created post, Dupuis will over see all accounts, including Unilever, Pfizer and Nasdaq, and drive new business for the New York-based interactive unit of J. Walter Thompson.
The position was designed to relieve Kevin Wassong, president of digital@jwt North America, of his day-to-day client duties and free him to focus on expanding the shop's interactive-marketing efforts in the U.S. and Canada, Dupuis said. Wassong, to whom Dupuis reports, was promoted to his current job in October.
Dupuis, 30, comes from Organic, where as group director of client services he led online brand and business initiatives for clients such as Blockbuster, Sony PlayStation and Federated Department Stores. During his three-and-a-half years at Organic's San Francisco headquarters, he helped build the i-shop's marketing practice and entertainment unit, as well as contributed to bus iness-development strategies.
Prior to Organic, Dupuis was a senior account manager for McCann-Erickson's digital shop, Thunder House. Before that, he was a media planner at McCann New York. His new job reunites him with Thunder House alumnus Steve Coulson, digital creative director at digital@jwt.
"My roots are in traditional advertising. I've also built online businesses from the ground up," said Dupuis, adding that this combination gives him "insight into how businesses should be marketed online."
