NEW YORK Abacus, the data and research arm of Internet ad technology company DoubleClick, has beefed up its executive team.

Kyle Thomas has joined as executive vice president of sales. In the new post, Thomas will manage a 75-person team. The position was created to fill the vacancy left by former svp of sales John Healy, who recently became senior vice president of global sales at parent DoubleClick.

The Broomfield, Colo.-based DoubleClick division has also promoted senior vice president of operations John Lloyd to managing director of Abacus International. In his new role, he will oversee all existing and new international operations. He also will explore additional overseas markets in which to expand the business.

Both executives will report to Abacus president Brian Rainey.

Thomas most recently spent two years as executive vice president of global sales and relationship management at HNC Software, a high-end analytic and decision management software company that merged with Fair, Isaac & Company in August 2002. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of global transaction services for ABN AMRO in Amsterdam, where he managed more than 600 sales professionals in 73 countries. He also worked for Citibank for six years in domestic and international sales management positions in New York and Singapore.

Lloyd joined DoubleClick in 1999 as senior vice president of operations for Abacus U.S., and has been responsible for the development and management of data-based targeting products for both e-mail and the Internet. He has also been a director in the Abacus U.K. operation since 2000. Lloyd has been in the international data business for 15 years, working nine years in Dun & Bradstreet's overseas operations.
