ATLANTA The Stone Agency has added Kevin Kearns as its second creative director, the shop said.
Kearns, 34, left DDB Chicago to join the independent Raleigh, N.C., shop. Kearns had been with DDB Chicago for the past 13 years, most recently as an associate creative director. He worked with clients including Anheuser-Busch, Tyson Chicken, S.C. Johnson and McDonald's.
At Stone, Kearns oversees all art production for the shop. He joins Don Pausbach, who had been supervising all the creative work for the past 18 months. Pausbach will continue to be responsible for all copywriting, and Kearns will report to him. Pausbach reports to the agency's chief executive officer, Chris Stone.
The shop needed another creative director to handle a growing workload, said Mark Schofield, Stone's chief operating officer. Work for existing clients has grown more than 50 percent in the past year, he said. He declined to reveal the agency's total annual billings.
The agency employs 30 people and its current client list includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, MeadWestvaco Healthcare Packaging, Madison River Communications, Merz Pharmaceuticals and The Trane Company.
Kearns was in New York working on a campaign and could not be reached for comment.
Kearns holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Miami University in Ohio and a master of arts degree from Syracuse University.
