BOSTON Cygnus Business Media said it has acquired EMS Expo and three trade magazines from Summer Communications and Expo Productions.
The acquisition "complements our existing Firehouse brand portfolio and offers additional synergies within our law enforcement group," said Cygnus president and CEO Paul Mackler. "It will allow us to gain more reach in the EMS segment for our advertisers."
EMS Expo is a leading medical services trade show and conference; it will now be produced by Cygnus' expositions division, which already stages the Firehouse Expo and Firehouse World expositions.
Cygnus also adds EMS Magazine, Advanced Rescue Technology and Frontline First Responder to its portfolio.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cygnus is based in Westport, Conn.
