Long John Silver’s Restaurants has denied that it is folding under pressure from the police by pulling its controversial TV spot, “State Trooper.”
The ad, created by Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor, New York, touts the client’s sandwiches by showing a state trooper stealing food from a pulled-over motorist [Adweek, Aug. 18].
According to Bruce Hinton, a representative for the Lexington, Ky.-based company, the commercial is merely being rotated out of its current schedule as originally planned.
