NEW YORK Colin Hearn, the chief executive of Cordiant Communications Group’s 141 Worldwide marketing services unit, has handed in his notice, he confirmed on Thursday. His resignation comes as CCG prepares to be bought by WPP Group.

“I took a decision that my first duty was to get our clients and people into safe harbor … I do believe that WPP is an excellent home for Cordiant. Now for personal reasons, I want to move on and consider other offers,” said Hearn, 52, who spent 18 years at London-based 141.
