LOS ANGELES — DDB Seattle has been awarded Car Toys $7 million-plus TV planning and buying account following a formal review that also included finalist Sedgwick Rd., formerly McCann-Erickson Seattle.

Car Toys, the Seattle-based retailer of mobile electronics and wireless phones, is trying to expand beyond the Pacific Northwest.

“We felt that their breadth of knowledge was stellar,” Cindy Riccardo, Car Toys media director, said of DDB Seattle. The shop also offers “a good blend of personalities,” she added.

The account had been with Publicis Seattle for roughly a year. “We mutually agreed to separate with the agency,” said Riccardo.

Car Toys radio buying remains in house.

While Car Toys has developed creative internally, it is reviewing its TV creative account, said Riccardo. A list of agencies was not available, nor was the budget.
