LOS ANGELES Broadcom Corp. has launched a review for an agency to handle its account, confirmed Select Resources International, which is leading the search.
The client, which provides technologies and products that enable broadband communications and networking of voice, video and data, has not previously worked with an agency.
Billings were undisclosed. Broadcom had $1 million in business-to-business media expenditures in 2002, according to CMR.
Requests for proposals were issued this week, sources said. The client in Irvine, Calif., is seeking a full-service shop to handle its creative and media account. The search is expected to focus on West Coast shops with technology experience.
Broadcom representatives did not return calls seeking comment. The client is expected to select an agency by the end of June, sources said.
