NEW YORK -- Hans Albers, most recently creative chief at 12 Cylinders in Hamburg, Germany has been tapped as chief creative officer of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in Hamburg. He succeeds Veronika Classen, who is leaving the shop.
Albers, 42, reports to agency chairman and CEO Norbert Lindhof. Before his one-year stint at 12 Cylinders, Albers was with Scholz & Friends, also in Hamburg, for 10 years, first as a senior copywriter, then creative director and finally as managing director of the shop. He has helped create ads for such clients as Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, BMW, Telekom, and Gruner+Jahr Publishers (Bertelsmann).
Albers began his advertising career as a copywriter with Springer & Jacoby in Hamburg in 1987. He has also worked for FCB Hamburg.
