COLORADO Griff Advertising and Public Relations in Boulder celebrated its 25th anniversary with a reunion celebration at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Agency president and creative director Bob Griff said the guest list included everyone who has ever worked for the shop. "We are who we are today because of their contributions," he said. MONTANA Spiker Communications, a full-service advertising agency in Missoula, added a division that will focus on marketing upscale products and services, including golf courses, ski resorts, ranching communities and luxury products. The division, called Spiker, has been set up to handle all aspects of advertising and marketing, including initial naming and identity materials to advertising and publicity. NORTHERN CALIFORNIAWolfe/Doyle Advertising, a full-service agency in San Francisco, has launched Impromptu Gourmet, a new line of gourmet meals. Wolfe/Doyle is providing brand planning and "through-the-line" creative work for Impromptu Gourmet, including package design and collateral materials for the launch. Etracks.com, Belmont, a leader in direct marketing on the Web, has announced the release of its APTracking service. APTracking is said to deliver more information and data than other tracking technologies. OREGON Big Ads in Portland has created a campaign that suggests new uses for the conventional computer mouse. In an effort to promote Wacom Co.'s new wireless mouse, the Graphire, print ads show a wired computer mouse being used to secure a car trunk, keep a gate shut and help secure a small tree. The tagline reads, "The mouse is dead. Long live the Graphire." The ads broke this month in PC Magazine, Wired, MacAddict, Mac Today and MacWorld.SOUTHERN CALIFORNIAIn recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mendoza, Dillon & Asociados in Newport Beach held an in-house luncheon and seminar with keynote speaker Reneé Gaines, community outreach and public relations director for the Women's Information Network Against Breast Cancer. FMiTV Networks, Los Angeles, has finalized a strategic and equity deal with Japanese conglomerate Secom. Secom is Japan's largest security information and cable television operator, reaching the metropolitan areas of Tokyo and Osaka. Nexgenix, Irvine, has launched FilmsOn, an "e-community" that provides a centralized venue for visitors to discover and view films online. Glyphix, a strategic design firm based in Woodland Hills, was named one of California's 69 fastest-growing private companies by Inc. magazine.Penn Litho, Cerritos, a heatset half-web printer with extensive inline finishing capabilities, has acquired a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 coating press. The press will serve as the central component in Litho's digital integration. Taffetdesign, an entertainment design agency that promotes TV networks and programs, has completed print, promotional and ad work for In-Flight Network. The client is a broadband communications network that promises to deliver live television feeds and Internet access to airport travelers. The agency also designed and launched two IFN Web sites. 5th Gear Advertising in Marina del Rey will expand its campaign for the Big Blue Bus prepaid fare card that debuted in the spring. The initial campaign used the theme "Little blue card for the big blue bus" in print, broadcast and collateral materials. UTAHTwo 30-second TV commercials created by FJCandN of Salt Lake City were recently honored by the American Public Transportation Association. The two spots, which encourage the use of public transportation, won AdWheel awards at the association's annual meeting. One spot, for example, features Andy Dick of the TV series NewsRadio as a bus passenger laughing hysterically about "all those poor guys driving to work."
