NEW YORK Aflac said it has hired Jeff Herbert in the new position of svp, chief marketing officer, effective immediately.

Herbert, 47, was most recently at the Zyman Group consultancy in Atlanta, where he was vp, marketing and business development. Before that, he held a variety of executive positions at Coca-Cola for its North America portfolio. He has also worked at Kraft General Foods and Campbell Soup.

Al Johnson, second vp, advertising and branding, will continue in that role, but now reports to Herbert.
