MIDDLETOWN, CONN. – The consultant handling the $15-million Aetna Health Plans review says he’s keeping an ‘open mind’ about agencies hankering to get into the pitch. For the first round at least, agency size, geographic location and even category experience will not necessarily exclude interested shops, according to Mal Crawford, executive vp at Ernst-Van Pragg, the New York consulting firm running the review. Currently, the account is handled by The Richards Group, Dallas. Crawford said the review is being held to ‘see what’s out there’ and does not reflect on The Richards Group’s performance.
