Ad Sales Boost MarketWatch.com Revenue

NEW YORK MarketWatch.com yesterday reported that net revenue rose 82 percent to $20.2 million in the second quarter from $11.1 million in the year-earlier period.

Nearly 40 percent, or $8 million of the online publisher’s total revenue, came from ad sales in the second quarter. MarketWatch.com attributed the 48 percent year-over-year ad revenue rise to continued interest in premium branding placements such as introductory messages, rich media and targeted advertising.
