SYDNEY – Australian department store chain Myer-Grace Bros. will use $1.5 million of its advertising budget to help create 1,436 new part-time jobs, in a move applauded by government officials. Australia’s unemployment rate is currently about 10%. Myer-Bros is part of Coles Myer, Australia’s largest retailer, and spent about $70 million on advertising last year.
