3 in Running for 'Communicator' Award

DALLAS Three public relations executives have been named finalists for the Communicator of the Year award by the International Association of Business Communicators' Dallas chapter.

The winner will be revealed at the Dallas/IABC Bronze Quill Awards gala on Oct. 7 at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas.

One finalist is Carol Barreyre, communications consultant with Carol Barreyre Communications in McKinney, Texas, which serves Fortune 500 companies such as EDS, Fiserv and Texas Instruments. Barreyre is a past Dallas/IABC president and serves on the IABC District 5 board.

Another finalist, Gayle Goodman Lynch, is public relations project manager at Centex Corp. in Dallas. Responsible for managing projects related to the areas of corporate reputation, media and investor relations, and community investment for Centex, Lynch has more than 10 years of experience in communications and journalism.

Finalist Jerry Stevenson, principal at Stevenson Consulting in Dallas, is a speaker, author and consultant who helps companies use technology to communicate. Formerly the lead strategist behind one of the world's largest global intranets at EDS, Stevenson has served clients such as Allstate, the American Heart Association, IABC and TXU Corp.
