Eager to return to the West Coast and take on more management duties, Harvey Marco has joined Saatchi & Saatchi as a creative director.

Marco, 38, starts this week at the Torrance, Calif., shop, where he will work on the cornerstone Toyota Motor Sales USA business and oversee projects for Procter & Gamble. He reports to chief creative officer Steve Rabosky as one of eight cds.

The new hire fills a slot left open when Doug Van Andel, cd on the Toyota truck business, was named cd for the interactive and design group.

As a cd at Fallon in Minneapolis, like Saatchi a Publicis Groupe shop, Marco worked on Citibank, Lee Jeans, Jim Beam and Ralston Purina.
