RadioShack Fortifies Marketing Hierarchy

DALLAS RadioShack today named four new executive vice presidents, including Jim Hamilton as evp of marketing and merchandising.

Hamilton had been vice president of global sourcing.

Also joining the marketing ranks later this month will be Tori Moore-Binau, previously senior director for global marketing at McDonald's. Before that, she was vice president of account service at Fahlgren Advertising in Columbus, Ohio.

The changes were announced by acting CEO Claire Babrowski, who assumed the top spot in February when then-CEO David Edmondson stepped down after admitting he falsified his resume.

Babrowski, who retains the title of chief operating officer, spent 30 years at McDonald's in Oak Park, Ill., where she was senior evp and chief restaurant operations officer.

Others named to the top management team were: David Barnes, evp and chief financial officer; Jim Fredericks, evp of administration; and Joe Formichelli, evp of retail operations.

Babrowski took over from Edmondson as the Fort Worth, Texas-based retailer was attempting a turnaround amid slumping profits.

"Given the turnaround plan that we announced last month and my new role in the company, it was imperative that we have a management team structure that ensures efficiency, accountability and faster decision making," said Babrowski.

Before joining RadioShack in 2003, Hamilton was CEO and co-founder of Identity Ventures, a global high-tech consulting company.
