It looks like McCann New York won't be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Jose Cuervo anymore. The Interpublic Group agency has resigned the account of the country's leading tequila brand, according to an internal memo obtained by Adweek.

"Today we notified our Jose Cuervo client that we have decided to end our relationship," agency president Chris Macdonald wrote in an internal email to McCann staffers Wednesday. The decision to cut ties was based on "a variety of factors, including financial," Macdonald said.
