What’s the first information you consume in the morning?
First thing in the morning, I check my email. Then the phone usually rings and I won’t answer it—I’ll check my caller ID after.

What do you read or watch or listen to at the breakfast table?
You know how they say break-fast is the most important meal of the day? I hardly ever eat breakfast. If I do, it’s at work, so I’m probably studying my lines.

What occupies your mind in the car, on the subway, train, or bus?
Car time is about putting me in the right mood for whatever’s coming up, so if I’m driving to work, music is really important. If I’m not going to work, I listen to music to calm me down and minimize the chances that I’m going to go into a road-rage frenzy—like Bach or ’80s synth pop.

Are you a TV junkie or on an airtime-restricted diet?
I’m a junkie! I talk about TV-watching in therapy—like, it’s a little bit of a problem.

If you’re a couch potato, what do you watch and how: TV, laptop, or tablet?
Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Raising Hope, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Dexter, Top Chef, Amazing Race, Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model—I can name all 17 winners in order! I definitely prefer to watch on my TV, but if I miss something, I’ll find it on my laptop.

Before bed, do you bite into a novel, graze on Twitter, or fast until morning?
If I know someone on a late-night show or I’m really a fan, then I’ll watch that. Otherwise I’ll either read or go on Twitter, which I usually don’t do during the day.

Which is more nutritious, print or the Web?
Print. The Web is like when you’re at a party and they’re passing trays of appetizers, whereas print is like sitting down and having a four-course meal.

Give us the skinny on your favorite app.
Words With Friends. I only have one friend who I play with, and we’re pretty evenly matched. But having said that, I’ve won every game we’ve played except for two.

What’s your biggest digital indulgence?
Probably Netflix, even though they raised their prices, and then they separated the streaming from the mail, and then they raised the prices again, and then they raised their prices just to mess with people, and then they asked everyone to donate blood or canned vegetables or something.

With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat?
Honestly, I live in fear that I’m not able to cut out the fat. I’m as tech-savvy as I can be, but it always seems like I don’t have all the right gadgets I need to be current. In spite of that, I feel like the media universe has invaded my life and taken over.
