Nicke Bergstrom, co-founder and cd of lauded Swedish shop Farfar, has joined the New York office of London-based ad shop Mother as a creative director.

At Mother, he reports to ecds Linus Karlsson and Paul Malmstrom, working with Michael Ian Kaye, a cd in Mother’s design group, and Tom Webster, a cd in the agency’s brand experience unit.

In a statement, Karlsson and Malmstrom called Bergstrom’s hire “a statement. We want to change things. Nicke is without a doubt the single most interesting creative leader out there today, and we share a vision about where things in our industry could go from here.”

Bergstrom co-founded Farfar in 2000.
