After searching for a year, Campbell Mithun has filled its chief creative officer slot with Heath Rudduck, former executive creative director for the Boston, Atlanta and Detroit offices of Digitas.
Rudduck, who starts today, fills the vacancy left by the December 2009 exit of Jonathan Hoffman, who had been president and chief creative officer back to June 2005. The new creative chief will manage a department of more than 30 staffers and report to CEO Steve Wehrenberg.
The hire comes five months after the Minneapolis-based shop merged with the Minneapolis office of fellow Interpublic Group agency MRM, the digital/direct marketing arm of McCann Worldgroup. At the time, MRM Minneapolis managing director Rachael Marret became president of the combined operation, which retained the Campbell Mithun name.
Campbell Mithun’s clients include General Mills, Famous Footwear, Hefty, Land O’Lakes, Frontier Communications and SuperValu (media duties).
Rudduck, a native Australian, left Publicis Groupe’s Digitas in August, after three years. His brand experience includes Procter & Gamble, Goodyear, Duracell and Aflac. Before Digitas, he was ecd of Omnicom Group’s Tribal DDB in Melbourne, Australia.
In making the hire, Wehrenberg cited Rudduck’s “vision for how we move beyond campaigns to create more meaningful connections between brands and consumers.”
Rudduck, for his part, cited Campbell Mithun’s “technical innovation and creativity throughout the organization.”
