Merkley Newman Harty has been awarded creative and media planning duties on the estimated $3-5 million BMW Motorcycles account. The win is Merkley’s sixth in as many pitches during the last three months, according to agency principal Jane Newman.
Merkley bested Grace & Rothschild, Lois/EJL and Mad Dogs & Englishmen, all New York, for the business.
DeWitt Media handles media buying; BMW has not decided whether DeWitt will be retained, sources said.
The creative assignment had been at New York incumbent Fallon McElligott Berlin and was expected to go to Fallon McElligott in Minneapolis when FMB was dissolved last year.
Other recent wins for Merkley include Levi’s Footwear, Travelers Group and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.
