Inteledigm Communications, attempting to capitalize on the technology gap between ad shops' skills and clients' demands for sophisticated online services, has launched The Agency Applet.
"Agencies claim to be interactive," said Eric Polins, Inteledigm's director of marketing. "But building a Web site doesn't make you interactive. Interactivity means understanding and implementing the technology. We provide applications, strategy, education and tactics."
The Tampa, Fla.-based service operates on a fee basis and guarantees a no-compete, confidentiality arrangement to agencies.
"All these so-called 'new media hybrids' tend to become competitors," Polins said. "They tell clients, 'Why even bother going to an agency.' " --Vincent Coppola
