NEW YORK Publicis Groupe’s ZenithOptimedia, which handles $4.6 billion of domestic media business, said it has promoted senior executives Tim Jones, Peggy Green and Wendy Marquardt to new positions within the company.

Jones has been promoted to the newly created position of chief strategy officer for the ZenithOptimedia USA Group, where he will lead business development for both divisions of the company, which previously had no overall new-business overseer. Jones will also continue to lead the communications planning and magazine groups of Zenith USA.

In her new position as president of broadcast, Green, who has been with the agency since its inception in 1995, will take on the added responsibility for local broadcast buying duties formerly handled by evp Bonita LeFlore, who will soon retire. Green had been evp, director of national broadcast.

Also, Wendy Marquardt, president of the company’s Verizon-dedicated VmZ, will add responsibility for all out-of-home for Zenith USA and continue in her role as director of information technology development, ZenithOptimedia USA.

Both positions will continue to report to ZenithOptimedia USA chief executive officer Rich Hamilton, who said, “Peggy and Wendy are the best pure negotiators I’ve ever met. While we’ll miss Bonita, who has made great contributions to the agency, I expect the transition to be seamless.” Hamilton added that Jones brings “tremendous strategic thinking” to the agency and is “fabulous at business development.”
