What’s in a Name?

Brodeur Drops Porter Novelli
BOSTON–Brodeur Porter Novelli has changed its name to Brodeur Worldwide in part to reflect its independence, said Brodeur president Andrea Carney.
The Boston-based technology public relations agency changed its name from Brodeur & Partners to Brodeur Porter Novelli in 1996–a couple years after being bought by Omnicom Group’s Porter Novelli, a New York-based public relations agency.
Porter Novelli has given its blessing to the name change, and it’s business as usual at Brodeur Worldwide, Carney said. The rebranding has no affect on sister shop Copithorne & Bellows, also owned by Omnicom and located in the same building as Brodeur, according to Dave Copithorne. The agency often partners with Porter Novelli and will continue to do so. –Lauren Wile
