WestWayne Remains Creative Contender For Sports Authority

WestWayne is the final Southern entrant in the Sports Authority’s creative review for its $28 million account.
The agency’s Atlanta and Tampa, Fla., offices will pitch this week against Foote, Cone & Belding, Chi-cago, and McCann-Erickson Worldwide and DDB Worldwide, both of New York.
“Great creative is not going to be enough [to win],” said client senior vice president of marketing Jeff Handler. “I want them to help redefine the brand, then communicate it.”
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based retailer also heard from Gold Coast Advertising, Miami; Harris Drury Cohen, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; The Richards Group, Dallas; DeVito/Verdi, New York; and Wyse Advertising, Cleveland. –T.W. Sieber
