Ryan Reynolds and Jim Carrey will battle to the death at the box office this weekend, but it's not really a fair fight. It's safe to say Reynolds's Green Lantern will give Carrey's Mr. Popper's Penguins a jolly good superhero thrashing, but that's what comic-book adaptations are for, after all.
In his film, Reynolds, joined by Blake Lively, stars as test pilot Hal Jordan, who is chosen to join the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps. Carrey, meanwhile, is joined by a much more motley cast—a bunch of penguins he somehow inadvertently inherits from Antarctica.
