Texas Blood Center Turns to Thompson

DALLAS The Thompson Agency has been awarded the advertising account of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, the shop said.

The independent San Antonio agency won the local account following a review involving undisclosed contenders, the shop said. There was no incumbent.

In addition to increasing STBTC’s drive donations, Thompson has been charged with creating awareness for the organization’s broad range of services, which include plasma, platelet and red blood cell donation, registration of donors for the National Marrow Donor program and bereavement support to tissue donor families.

“We are confident that together we can encourage the South Texas area to participate more fully in the life-saving mission of blood and tissue donation,” said Dr. Norman D. Kalmin, president and CEO of STBTC.

The agency said it would launch a TV, radio and outdoor campaign in June.

With four donor locations in San Antonio and one in Victoria, Texas, the STBTC provides more than 100 hospitals and clinics in 43 Texas counties with daily blood, tissue and research services.

Annual billings are undisclosed.
