Spot Takes Aim at U.S. Car Makers

Conservative columnist Arianna Huffington has teamed with the Natural Resources Defense Council for a TV spot that challenges U.S. car companies and lawmakers to deliver more fuel-efficient vehicles. The spot broke last week in major markets. It argues that technology is available to make cars that get at least 40 miles per gallon, which would save 2 million barrels of oil a day. Two earlier spots from Huffington’s The Detroit Project generated some controversy for equating SUVs with terrorism.
