CHICAGO – J. Walter Thompson got back into the restaurant business in a big way last week, surprising most agencies by taking home the $10-15 million White Castle System business to its Detroit office, while Chicago won the $15 million ShowBiz Pizza Time business. White Castle had crossed off many agencies because of conflicts with other restaurants, but surprisingly let the Detroit office pitch while Chicago went after ShowBiz. ‘It was looked at on a case-by-case basis,’ said Jeff Cox, executive vp with Rojek Marketing Group, the consultant on the White Castle review.
