NEW YORK Saatchi & Saatchi has laid off about 50-60 New York staffers to compensate for the loss of about $200 million in Johnson & Johnson business, including the $115 million Tylenol account, sources said.

The cuts, which were expected [Adweek, Dec. 8], reduced the shop’s workforce of 650 by approximately 8 percent. Saatchi declined comment.

Last month, Saatchi lost its J&J business, which also included the St. Joseph, Mylanta and Pepcid brands, following a review of the Tylenol account.
