Rally’s Burgers Joins Checkers At Miami’s Crispin

Crispin Porter & Bogusky in Miami has added Rally’s Hamburgers, the sister company of existing client Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, to its roster.
Combined 1999 media spending for the two chains has been budgeted at $13 million, according to the client.
Rally’s creative account had been with M&C Saatchi in New York; media was at Western International Media in Hollywood, Calif.
The decision to place the accounts of both chains, which are part of the CKE Restaurants empire, at one shop was based on a desire for more efficient spending. Though both utilize a double drive-thru format, they do not compete in the same markets.
CP&G cited the addition of media director Rich Rivera last fall as a primary factor in pulling in the Rally’s account. –Jim Osterma
