A small Los Angeles-based ad agency is capitalizing on China’s growing appetite for Western goods.
Pulsar Advertising, with about $13 million in billings, is helping Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Fancy Fruit market its frozen fruit bars (one is shown here) to the People’s Republic.
The agency’s first involvement in China occurred earlier this year. Its New York-based Pulsar Entertainment division helped produce a Hollywood Bowl simulcast of the ceremony in which Hong Kong was returned to China’s control.
Fancy Fruits–“the Rolls Royce of popsicles,” according to agency president Alberto Gonzalez–will be marketed to China’s “growing, upscale consumer.”
The assignment also involves posters, point-of-purchase and collateral materials, including signage and brochures.
