BOSTON Pearl Izumi USA has awarded its events marketing business to Cenergy Communications without a review.
The agency in East Aurora, N.Y., will support the client’s 10-month “Run Like an Animal” tour, which encompasses 31 running events nationwide. At each event, Pearl Izumi will partner with a key Pearl Izumi Run retailer to sample and sell running shoes and apparel from a 400-square-foot exhibition booth. The budget for the push was not disclosed.
“Cenergy demonstrated its knowledge of the endurance market. In addition to their event marketing experience, they will leverage our presence at the events to develop incremental sell through with our retail partners,” said Geoff Shaffer, director of marketing at the Broomfield, Colo.-based client, in a statement.
Selection was based on a presentation of creative and event marketing capabilities. Band Advertising in Denver previously held the assignment.
Cenergy principal John Cimperman added, “Our job will be to draw upon our sports marketing, event marketing and retail experience to get Pearl Izumi’s product in the hands, and on the feet, of the running market.”
Cenergy also works for Right Guard, NHL Network, Aussie Vineyards, Comcast and the Toronto Blue Jays.
