Palma Declares ‘War’ at BaylessCronin

ATLANTA Michael Palma has joined BaylessCronin as director of business development, the agency said.

Palma replaces BC president Steve Bowen who, along with executive creative director Jerry Cronin, left the Atlanta shop, a unit of Omnicom’s Merkley Newman Harty & Partners in New York, less than a month ago.

Most recently, Palma, 45, was marketing director at Cole Henderson Drake in Atlanta. He joined the independent shop in January 2002, after almost 10 years as a personnel recruiter in Raleigh, N.C., and Atlanta.

“It’s war now,” said Palma. “We’ve got the reel and the creative to sell. They need someone who’s dedicated full time to doing that.”

As a recruiter, Palma found McKinney & Silver’s David Baldwin his first stint as creative director at Leonard/Monahan in Providence, R.I. He also placed creatives regionally on TBWA\Chiat\Day’s Nissan account.
