Orsatti & Partners Scores Florist

Floral retailer KaBloom has tapped Orsatti & Partners as its first agency of record.
The Boston shop was chosen after a review of several undisclosed agencies, said KaBloom chief executive officer David Harstein. Billings are expected to be in the seven figures.
The company had worked with Wallwork Curry in Boston on a project basis, said Harstein. The shop worked on packaging and materials for the client’s initial opening in 1996 but did not create any advertising, Harstein said.
KaBloom “lends itself very well to leveraging the information that customers provide to build brands,” noted Lou Orsatti, chief executive officer of Orsatti & Partners. “That concept fits in with our business model.”
The shop will devise print, broadcast and outdoor branding efforts in addition to extensive Web site development. KaBloom currently has a site that accepts orders, but Harstein hopes to expand his business even further via the Internet.
Orsatti & Partners “has expertise in database and direct marketing, and we very much want to be in touch with our customers, to know who they are, what they want and what they need,” Harstein said.
Pro Media, Needham, Mass., will handle media planning and buying, a new assignment for the shop.
KaBloom has retail shops in Newton and Wellesley, Mass. Additional stores are slated to open in Brookline and the Burlington Mall this spring, with 10 additional locations planned for the Boston area by the end of the year, Harstein said.
