Nielsen informed clients Tuesday (Oct. 21) that it has moved the May 2009 survey to exclude Memorial Day. The May survey, now scheduled for April 23 to May 20, 2009, will be the first big sweep after the digital TV transition.
To accommodate the change, Nielsen’s April survey for local people meter markets will become a three-week survey, April 2 to April 22, 2009. May 21 to May 27 will be a non-reported week.
Earlier this year, Nielsen moved the February sweep period to March (March 4 to April 1, 2009) so that it didn’t run over the Feb. 17 DTV transition deadline.
