Navigauge Adds Simpson as Senior Media Exec

ATLANTA Drew Simpson, a former senior executive at Arbitron, has joined rival Navigauge as senior vice president of media, Navigauge said.

Simpson is responsible for product development, sales, marketing and service for Navigague, a 2-year-old Atlanta company that monitors radio listening patterns and sells the information to subscribers.

“Drew is a critical part of our executive team and an asset that can elevate Navigauge to its logical position in the marketplace,” said Tim Cobb, the company’s chief executive. “Drew’s expertise and relationships will definitely help to propel our growth.”

Simpson is the former president and chief operating officer of Tapscan Worldwide, a Birmingham, Ala, company that develops and sells market data analysis software to broadcasters. When Arbitron acquired Tapscan in 1998, Simpson joined the executive staff at Arbitron.

He also was co-creator of the Games Report Radio Network during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, which provided programming content to stations nationwide.
