Diaz was promoted to senior vice president of advertising and marketing at The Arizona Republic in Phoenix. - COLORADO BVP Media, a Denver-based video, commercial and interactive production company, hired Paul Trani as animator and graphic designer for the interactive department. Barnhart/CMI Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations in Denver added Patricia Blakey as senior account manager, Erika Olson as account manager, Jody Monson as designer and David Roth as account manager. - NEVADA David Branby joined Envision Advertising and Marketing in Reno with the responsibility of leading the creative direction during strategic planning and creative sessions. - NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Jon Whitman joined Philip Johnson Associates in San Francisco as creative director. 360 Group, a direct marketing company based in San Rafael, appointed Michelle Sugarman senior marketing analyst in its database and analytic services group. Addis Group, a fully integrated branding firm in Berkeley, hired Sarah Wallace as an account executive, Jerry Lazaro as a senior designer, Elsie Yim as a senior production artist and Christine Blake as a copy editor. Highway One, San Francisco, a unit of the MacManus Group, hired Cathy Leiden, Rick Babich, Nichole Kezsely and Craig Venezia as vice presidents/account directors. Wolfe/Doyle Advertising in San Francisco hired and promoted several employees. Ellen Nason and Michelle Morin were each promoted to vice president/account management supervisor; Matt Ruona, formerly a senior art director, was named associate creative director; Donna Brodman was promoted to print production manager. DisplayWorks, a custom trade show exhibit/display house headquartered in Los Angeles, added Carlos Ferreira to its creative design staff. Rogers & Associates, a Los Angeles public relations and strategic communications firm, hired Barry Liden as a vice president. Bailey/Gardiner Creative Communications, San Diego, promoted Kirk Surry to public relations manager. Morgan Marketing & Public Relations, Irvine, promoted Megan Nelson to account executive. Adam Behar was named account supervisor at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker, San Diego. Frankel, a promotional marketing agency in the Publicis agency network, promoted Breena Gold to vice president in Irvine.
